• Recipient of the Mahila Shiromani Award for 1992-from the first lady of India-Mrs. Vimla Sharma for achieving ‘outstanding excellence in her chosen fields of activity’ viz. export promotion through Trade Fairs & Exhibitions on March 21, 1993.

• Recipient of the Bharat Nirman Award for excellence in Export promotion by National Federation of Industrial Development in 1997. 

 

• Was the only Indian to have been appointed (December 1986) as a member of the Co-operation Committee of the Union des Foires Internationals (UFI) Paris – the world organisation controlling all fairs and exhibitions with headquarters in Paris. In 1996 – was nominated on the Steering Committee and subsequently was an elected member of UFI until 2002.

 

• Have been awarded the Indira Gandhi Priyadarshini Award ’98 on International Women’s Day – 8th March 1998 for contribution in the field of administration and promotion of India’s image abroad at the hands of Shri Shankar Dayal Sharma Former – President of India.

 

• Recipient of the Bharat Nirman Award for Women for outstanding excellence in the field of Administration at the hands of  Mr. Ramu Walia, Union Minister for Welfare in December 1996.

 

• Was selected as the Woman Executive of the year 1989 by the Institute of Marketing and Management, New Delhi.

 

• Was Chairperson for a Seminar on “Challenges & Opportunities before Shippers and Shipowners in 1990s” organised by the Indian Merchants Chamber at Bombay in which was attended by over 300 leading exporters and shipping magnates.

 

• Associated in formulating the syllabus for the University of Bombay for a new course on ‘Export Marketing & Management’ in 1990.
